Director Koichi Nakashi revealed that Resident Evil Requiem will allow players to switch between first- and third-person perspectives, after many found Resident Evil 7 to be “too scary” due to its first-person perspective. In an interview, he stated:
Some players couldn’t stand it… they couldn’t finish it or even start it. I wanted to make sure everyone could enjoy the game. Having a third-person perspective gives a less stressful feeling because it puts the character in front of you as a representation of yourself.
The ninth installment of the long-running series arrives 30 years after the events of the third installment, with a new heroine investigating mysterious crimes in Raccoon City.
